So, I'm very confused about who has access to the protected mode in Bing Edge Copilot. I thought it was just those with a company license agreement? However, it also now seems to be available to those with personal Microsoft account? That didn't seem to be the case about a week ago? At one point I was able to switch between my personal and organisational account, personal account remembered my conversations but had no protection while my organisational account didn't remember my conversations but did put me in protected mode. Has it changed? Have I inadvertently done something by accident?

Hi Simon,
Welcome to Microsoft Community.
I'm Hahn and I'm here to help you with your concern.
I'm sorry for the confusion about the protected mode in Microsoft Copilot. Let me try to explain it to you.
Protected Mode is a feature that allows you to chat with Copilot in a safer, more private way. When Protected Mode is enabled, your chats and data are not stored or shared with anyone, including Microsoft. This means that Copilot won't remember your previous chats and won't use them to improve its responses. However, you can still access your chats from your device if you wish.
If you have both a personal and an organizational account, you can switch between them by clicking on your profile picture in the upper right corner of the Microsoft Edge browser and selecting the account you want to use. However, switching accounts will also reset your Copilot settings, so you may need to turn on or off the protected mode and the page context feature again depending on your preference.
It is possible that you have changed your Copilot settings unintentionally by switching accounts or resetting Microsoft Edge. You can always check your current settings by going to the sidebar and clicking on the Settings icon. You can also learn more about Copilot in Edge by visiting the Microsoft Learn website Copilot in Edge | Microsoft Learn.
I hope this clarifies your questions about Copilot protected mode. If you have any other questions or feedback, please let me know. I'm always happy to help.
Your Sincerely
