Can you change the search engine from the launch page?

I've changed the search engine from bing to DuckDuckGo from just about everything from the address bar, to search, to right-click to search the web. The only thing I haven't been able to figure out is how to remove it from the launch page, by that I mean the page that shows when you click 'add tab' and it goes to the page with your recent pages on the bottom and the photo of the day (depending on how you have yours set up). I'd just like to change that search bar to DuckDuckgo or Google but I'm doubting that's possible but it never hurts to ask. Thank you in advance for taking the time out of your day to read and help me.
Hi madskillzdc360
Microsoft do not provide an option (natively) to change the new tab page. but there are a couple of options.

you can set it to use your preferred search engine in the address bar when typing in the search box.

click the ellipsis (...) and select settings
on the left select privacy search and services
on the right, under "search engine used in the search bar" select your preferred search engine from the dropdown.
under "search on new tabs using search box or address bar" select address bar

if you then type in the search box on the new tab page it will automatically move to the address bar and use your preferred search engine.

or, if you do want to change the new tab page for a URL of your choice, you will need to install an extension such as this
https://microsoftedge.microsoft.com/addons/deta...
(there are others in the add-on store https://microsoftedge.microsoft.com/addons/Micr...? )
click the get button to install
then click the ellipsis (...) and select extensions
turn on the installed extension
click "extension properties"
enter your preferred URL and click save

next time you open a new tab the extension will redirect to your preferred URL.

I hope that helps please let me know if it not clear.

Easiest way to do this is probably to open the New Tab page to duckduckgo.

Edge > Settings > Extensions > Get Extensions > search for new tab url

Searching for simply new tab may find other extensions worth trying.
