Performance of scrolling in Word 2016 for Mac is miserable

There seems to be a bug that was introduced in the last few beta versions of Word for Mac 2016. Scrolling became increasingly choppy, consuming up to 100% CPU even with 4-5 page documents. Specifically, scrolling seems ok when opening a doc after relaunching Word but as soon as Word loses focus (because of switching to another app) the choppy scrolling bug raises its ugly head. It makes Word for me not quite totally useless but hinders any effective work with it. Why?

PS: what's weird: when one grabs the scrollbar with the mouse cursor and then moves the document up and down there appears to be very little choppiness... so it's a mouse/trackpad input issue...?

So far, on my side, I can say all my problems seem to be solved with the latest update 15.3.1

Hurray !

CPU % is again normal and the scrolling is smooth.

Thanks Microsoft. Finally.  :-)

Hope it will last.

Tested on MacBook Air mid-2012
