Build 15063 - Known issues for PC

Note: The upgrade path from the Windows 10 Anniversary Update (Build 14393) to this Windows 10 Creators Update build is not yet live and will be live tomorrow morning.

To view the Version, Build number Expiration date enter:  Winver.exe  in the Search box

For Activation Status: Open a command prompt or Power Shell and enter:  slmgr  /xpr  and tap the 'Enter' key

For additional information on the Edition and other information, right click on the Start icon and select 'System'

Notes:

1) Winver did not display the build expiration dates for builds 14376 to 14915. Winver does display the  expiration date for Build 14931.

2) I fast forwarded the BIOS date and time to one day past the “Windows will stop booting date listed for build 14372 and build 14379 failed to load. The black and white “Windows Boot Manager” message is displayed as shown below.

3) I was away for the holidays so I missed this build as it was quickly replaced by build 14385.

4) Open a command prompt and enter:  slmgr  /xpr  and tap the 'Enter' key. The status displayed is:

This machine is permanently activated”. Message was the same on two different computers for build 14385 and later builds.

5) You will notice that builds all previous expiration dates were exactly 14 days (2 weeks) before the end of the "Free Upgrade" offer on July 29th, 2016.

6) Build 15058 (Winver shows no expiration date) could be a precursor to the “Creators Update” release expected in late March or early April.  Add 14days to 3/14/17 and you get March 28th as a projected release date.

To view the Version, Build number Expiration date enter:  Winver.exe  in the Search box

For Activation Status: Open a command prompt and enter:  slmgr  /xpr  and tap the 'Enter' key

For additional information on the Edition and other information, right click on the Start icon and select 'System'

Note: You will notice that except for the most recent builds, build 13361 and earlier the "License expiration dates" were exactly 14 days (2 weeks) before the end of the "Free Upgrade" offer on July 29th, 2016.

Expiration warnings:

Approximately 2 weeks before a build’s license expires, you will start getting warnings that this build will expire and that you should update to the most recent build.

Backup any important data:

Save your files to a Flash/Thumb drive or external USB drive as once the Windows 10 Preview reaches the date when it stops booting you will no be able to access them.

License expiration date:

When the build reaches the license expiration date, the system will automatically reboot every three hours (actually more than ten minutes short of 3 hours). If you should be away from the computer when this happens, any open applications and the information they contains will be lost when the system reboots.

Windows will stop booting date:

This is what you can expect to see when power on the computer and you attempt to load Windows.

Pressing the Enter key or the F8 option or rebooting will do you no good. It’s an endless loop back to the same error message.
