Windows 10 Mobile Insider Preview Device Reminder

Hello Windows Insiders!

Earlier this year when we launched Windows 10 Mobile, we announced a series of changes to Windows 10 Mobile Insider Preview Program, including details of our launch of Windows 10 Mobile as well as changes to the supported Windows 10 Mobile Insider Preview devices

With the upcoming release of the Windows 10 Anniversary Update, the Release Preview ring is moving to Windows 10 Mobile Insider Preview build 14393. This change will have some impact on unsupported device:

  • As stated before, unsupported devices will not receive any builds or updates newer than 10586.x
  • Unsupported devices will not be able to select any Windows Insider Preview rings in the Windows Insider app
  • Updates to apps and services may not be available for unsupported devices and in some cases may limit certain experiences

Unsupported devices can still use the Windows Device Recovery Tool to recover to Windows Phone 8.1, but will not have the option to return to Windows 10 Mobile.

As always, we appreciate our Insiders and thank you for your participation in the Windows Insider Program.

Sincerely,

Your Windows Insider Team

RIP for all those slowly killed devices.
Pretty sad, my 3 year old iPhone can get the newest iOS and is smooth as butter but my 1020 is forever stuck on 8.1
A warning of the exact date would have been welcome. More so since just few days back Jason told me to get the 10586 build from RP for my 1020 on twitter.
I didn't see that warning ⚠,so now I have my 1020 stuck on 10586.420, I missed last update 😢

And yet you are dropping support for Skype on Windows Phone 8.1?

A 2011 Android 4.0 phone can use Skype, while a 2014 Windows 8.1 phone cannot, when Skype is owned by Microsoft. Greatest joke ever!

The HTC One M8 for Windows is more than just capable of running Windows 10 Mobile smoothly. Not letting it receive the upgrade is ****!
That's understandable I had fun testing windows 10 mobile on my Lumia 925 while it lasted.
Blame HTC for that not supporting the phone
W ANDROID!!! lol

Please allow unsupported divices to install at least build 10586.494

It worked fine on our Lumia 925s and still have some devices we could upgrade and use.

Thanks,

Daniele
