Windows 10 Insider Preview 16193.1001 (rs_prerelease) - Error 0x80070002

Windows 10 Insider Preview 16193.1001 (rs_prerelease) - Error 0x80070002

I'm getting this error when I try to install with windows update.

Uninstalled Malwarebytes

reboot laptop

Still get the error.  It is my Lenovo t460 so it is a current machine with nothing extra except office 2016

It downloads ok but when updating at 5% it jumps to 100% and then displays the error.

It is also failing on my hp elite 7000

There were problems installing some updates, but we'll try again later.

If you keep seeing this and want to search the web or contact support for information,

this may help:

Windows 10 Insider Preview 16193.1001 (rs_prerelease) - Error 0x80070002

Found this site and tried it on both machines.  One had Malwarebytes and the other didn't but after running the "windows update Troubleshooter" both machines updated.

https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/10164/fix-windows-update-errors

select: windows 10

Here’s how:

  1. Download the Windows Update Troubleshooter, and then select Open or Save in the pop-up window.
    Note

If you select Save, you need to go to the folder where the troubleshooter is downloaded to after the download is complete, and then double-click the latestwu.diagcab file to run the troubleshooter.

  2.  Select Next and follow the steps in the wizard to find and fix problems with Windows Update

ISO for Build 16193 is available. Download the iso from < Microsoft Insider Download > and try to install from it.
