Windows 10 Pro build 15058: Parser returned error 0xC00CE556

I am receiving the following error after having installed build 15058:

Windows 10 Pro build 15058 64-bit
No problems on system startup

Errors:
"Error parsing C:\Windows\Microsoft.Net\Framework\v4.30319\Config\machine.config Parser returned error 0xC00CE556"

Affecting:

Intel Extreme Tuning Utility (on application startup) Utility has worked flawlessly for over a year. Primary use is to monitor performance.

Visual Studio 2013 during install

I have tried renaming machine.config.default to machine.config and copied over existing machine.config

Additionally, Sound no longer functional.

Any advice?

Chris

Sound!!!

Have you looked in Device Manager?

Also have you clicked on the speaker on the taskbar and then on the ^ and picked the speakers?

The sound has worked on all previous builds. I provide support for Windows so I check the little things ;-)

I am receiving the following error after having installed build 15058 and 15060:

No problems on system startup

Errors:

Affecting:

Intel Extreme Tuning Utility (on application startup) Utility has worked flawlessly for over a year. Primary use is to monitor performance. Reinstall does not solve the issue.

Visual Studio 2013 during install

I have tried renaming machine.config.default to machine.config and copied over existing machine.config

To properly get answers to your post you should include this minimum information.

1.  Device type. ie PC, Laptop, Tablet, Surface.

2.  OS type, Home, Pro, Executive, etc

3.  Current build.  Go Settings, System. About.  XXXXXX.XXX

4.  Where is this happening on the computer,  Boot, Screen, App, etc

5.  What error are you getting if any?

Thanks for the cut & paste response. What is it in my post that you were unable to understand? If you read it, you see it contains everything you mentioned except the device type. However, someone in your position should be able to discern that piece of information. You know, I worked at Microsoft from '92-'95 with far less tools at my disposal than you have today. Back then the most important tool we had available to us were our brains.

Gina,

Look, my point is that I gave the necessary information. This is not my first trip to support and I've been there myself. I was nice until I received a response that was both unnecessary and not helpful. If there is a piece of information that is missing, simply ask and I will provide it. If one refuses to look at what was supplied simply because it was not in a specific format that was suitable to him, that is not my fault.

I'll not "think twice", I know what a support engineer requires in order to look into a problem. As I've said before, I've been there myself.

I can appreciate you wanting to stand up for one of your colleagues, however, you, too, should think twice instead of being adversarial.

Now that we've wasted enough time on this pointless issue...
