Hi,

Even i have seen this in my laptop. This error is because the Microsoft account was not synced properly. While signing in the MS account first time i was not able to generate the pin also.
So when i try to switch to Local account, the windows shows the Error code 0x80004005. But i fix this error.
Steps to fix it are:

1) Go in Start==>Setting==>Accounts==>Sign-in Options==> Change Pin

In this step create the pin. Also change the password there.

2) Then open any browser and go to www.hotmail.com to Sign in your Microsoft Account and use the new password which you have changed .

3) After logging in the Microsoft account click on your Name==>Account settings.

4) On the next screen, Scroll down to Devices. There you see a symbol of PC below the word 'Devices' and see all in front of the word 'Devices'. Click on 'see all'.

5) There you see Your devices. Remove the device by clicking Remove PC and wait for 5 minutes to sync with your PC. Make sure that you are well connected to Internet so that the PC will sync properly.

6) After this you go to account in setting to switch back to Local account.

Hope so it will also work for you as it work for me also.

Regards Akash

Hi,

Step 1 is only for Windows 10 users. But for windows 8 and 8.1, you should do all the steps from 2 to 6.

I am pretty sure that your problem will be solved.

Hi John,

Actually you need to sign out of the unsynced account of microsoft. Then again switch to local account.

So proceed with the step 2 to 6 mentioned above. Hope That will work.

Thank you for your reply, I follow the steps but this is still what I get. Try a different URL We don’t have anything to show you at this link. Try searching for what you want, instead. Any other advice? I'm regretting switching to Windows 10: audio driver bugs, video glitches, folder permission problems, pushy proprietary services...Really I had high hopes and now I feel it was just a marketing scam with no benefits over windows 7

Have same problem and Windows 10 always give error messages every time I try to follow these steps to change PIN and password.

I read that we could revert back to previous Windows version within 1 month. Are we still could get free upgrade to Windows 10 after doing this? I consider to use my old Windows  8.1 and maybe upgrading to Windows 10 later if it could prove that the upgrade is a worth.

Hi All,

There must be some problem with windows. As after upgrading I was also facing problems. So i do the clean install again of windows 10. You need to upgrade ur windows to get it activated for life time.

So if needed please do clean install of windows 10 again to get all the necessary files again. You can do it by choosing  the option Recovery in Updates and Security.

But don`t forget to take backup of ur data first.

Even the backup of the setup drivers in the C drive so that you can use them.

Clean install will take nearly 45 to 1 hr.

regards

Akashdeep

Hi,

thank you for your reply. If I have to do I clean install, backup everything etc. to solve my problem I would prefer to go back to windows 7. Is there an easy way to downgrade from windows 10?

Thank you!

In recovery , you will see 3 option,

Ist for clean install without data lose

2nd for Downgrade to Win7 or 8.1

3rd for clean install using Win 10 ISO

you can do it by using second option.

But I suggest you to do clean install. It will resolve all ur problems. And you will definately have a nice experience of using Win10.

:)

Akashdeep
