Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 16226 for PC repeatedly stops downloading

Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 16226 for PC repeatedly stops downloading with the following error : Last failed install attempt on ‎22/‎06/‎2017 - 0x80240034

Thanks, to some of the replies I managed to get it installed  - I did a clean install of Build 16193 and then upgrade it successfully to Build 16226 - Build 16193 is available here from Microsoft :  https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windowsinsiderpreviewadvanced?wa=wsignin1.0  - all you have to is sign in with your Microsoft account and select your preferred version and use a tool like Rufus to burn it to a USB drive or one of Microsoft  tools. If you had a suitable build you may succeed by just mounting the OS, assuming the version installed isn't higher than 16193 and upgrading it  - just save all files, and tick  the other check box when you get to it, and it wont take long - its usually that by default anyhow.

After rolling back from 16225 to 16119 to at least recover normal accentuated characters and the altkeys, I let this new build 16226 install itself.

This time, build 16226 brings back the accentuated characters but :
Google Maps displays nothing but a display via edge works flawlessly.
The Altkeys are gone.

There may be other defects but no access to the altkeys is a big disappointment and a real showstopper.

Thanks for that, but what does it have to do with build 16226 failing to upgrade with error  0x80240034?

I fail about 19% into the download.   Any help out there, please?

For me (still on 16215), the download has apparently succeeded, but it won't install.

Update history shows:

Windows 10 Insider Preview 16226.1000 (rs_prerelease)

Failed to install on ‎22/‎06/‎2017 - 0x80240034

while the Windows Update page shows:

Updates are available.

Windows 10 Insider Preview 16226.1000 (rs_prerelease)

Status: Awaiting install

... there's no option to say install now as there normally is.

Same problem here.  This might be the fix. I do have .NET 3.5 installed so trying this next.

I'd already seen the warning about .NET 3.5 and had removed it prior to getting 16266 downloaded.

Hmmm. After uninstalling .NET 3.5, my update finished normally.

Have you tried running the Troubleshooter for Windows Update?

Yes, I'd seen other mentions of running the Troubleshooter so I gave it a go. It said it'd done something, but has made no difference.

I also got this problem. I tried everything from Registry workaround from build 16199 to run Windows Update Troubleshooter to delete all files and folders in SoftwareDistribution folder, but none of them worked.

I gave up so I downloaded 16226 iso from third-party source and install it on my PC.

But I still want to know what causes this.

What 3rd party source did you get 16226 iso from? I'm also struggling with the download.
