Error 0xC1900101 - 0x30017 when trying to upgrade to Windows 10 Technical Preview

Original title: 0xC1900101 - 0x30017

Trying to install the preview from a USB stick as an upgrade from 8.1 on an Acer Aspire Switch 10.  First stage seems to go ok, then it errors, restarts a couple of times and shows the error message as above.

Will try to copy the files to the hard drive and install from there.

Are you trying to perform a clean install or an upgrade?

The issue could be related to any third party software or hardware that might be conflicting with the upgrade
.

Also, make sure all drivers are up-to-date before upgrading.

Let us follow some troubleshooting steps and check if that helps:

Step 1: Disconnect any devices attached to the Acer laptop, except the USB stick.

Step 2: If you are using any third-party antivirus software, you may temporarily disable it and check if you can upgrade.

You may refer to the antivirus maker website to check for the options to disable antivirus.

If this does not help, you may consider uninstalling antivirus and then check if you can upgrade.

Note: If you disable/uninstall antivirus, enable/install it after you upgrade the operating system.

Step 2: Also, place the computer in Clean Boot state and upgrade.

We recommend you place the computer in a clean boot state to determine if other programs are interfering with this application. To do this, see this article on how to clean start your computer:
