0x8000702500x2000C The installation failed in the safe_os phase with an error during apply_image operation is what I got from downloading the Windows 10 using the media tool that Microsoft provides
to put it on my usb drive. It made it to 17% install then I got that error message and it started to go back to my Windows 7 Home Premium. I guess I am either going to have to keep trying or wait for Microsoft to finally get the upgrade to me without out
the failed attempts. It's up to 6 fails listed in the updates and this fail when trying to use usb drive to upgrade.

I did that as well, and I am upgrading from 8.1. It stops on the screen where it says copying files.....at 2%, and then the computer just shuts off. I restart it, and it tells me that it is restoring windows to earlier version. Code: 0xC1900101 - 0x2000c.
The installation failed in the safe_os phase with an error during apply_image operation. I have tried every (albeit very limited) solutions that I could find online. My only other thought is to get another hard drive and install windows 8 on it and then upgrade
to windows 10.....not even sure if that would solve the issue.
Peace

Tried several times like everyone else both automatically from update and manually using a usb drive, and it gets to between 2% and 5% and shuts down and doesn't power back up. after powering up manually it reverts back to previous version 8.1

I had this same issue but sorted it by going to control panel, administrative tools, disk clean up, clean up system files, ticked every box and ran the process which took ages, after that went back to Windows 10 upgrade and the installation successfully
completed, I now have a 6 year old Hp AMD laptop running Windows 10

I did as you suggested (downloaded from Media Creator) - same error. That was try #5. Any other suggestions? I am on a brand new HP Pavilion with Windows 8.1
Have installed every single update available for 8.1
