My home server and nas devices are not showing in Network Windows 10 build 1079.

I use several network devices in the home. None show up in Network even after fiddling with network settings. With network discovery turned on in other windows even 8.1 I could access my network shares. In build 1079 of 10 I can not access anything. I even went as far as editing the registry to allow guest access. Still nothing. Are you purposely blocking all other devices and tech?

Answer

I had this problem too. Found this solution in another post:

  1. Win+X -> Control Panel->Network and Sharing Center->Change Adapter Settings
  2. Right click on the Network Adapter->Properties
  3. Click to select Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) -> Properties ->Advanced->WINS
  4. Click to select "Enable NetBIOS over TCP/IP" then click OK.

Worked for me. Good luck!
