Windows 10 TP - AltGr Key has lost functionality

I understand that you are unable to use the AltGr key on your keyboard after the update.

1. The make and model of your computer?

2. Have you tried using the On Screen Keyboard?

I suggest you to try the methods given below and check if it helps:

Method 1: Start Windows in safe mode and see if the issue persist.

Windows Startup Settings (including safe mode):

Note: Steps for Windows 8 or 8.1 applies to Windows 10.

Method 2: Clean Boot.

A clean boot is performed to start Windows by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This helps eliminate software conflicts that occur when you install a program or an update or when you run a program in Windows 8.1, Windows 8, Windows 7, or Windows Vista. You may also troubleshoot or determine what conflict is causing the problem by performing a clean boot.

Disclaimer: After you have finished troubleshooting, follow these steps from section “How to reset the computer to start as usual after clean boot troubleshooting” to reset the computer to start as usual.

I also have exactly the same problem with a Lenovo Yoga 3 11 with a French Keyboard. All was working properly on Windows 8.1 before I switched on Windows 10... Any patch or alternative keyboard driver ???

Just a quick tip to use while waiting for Microsoft's or Lenovo's solution to solve this bug :

You can use CTRL + ALT keys at the same time, it will replace your ALT GR key...

Julien, what worked for me was uninstall synaptics

same problem here, with a sony vaio duo 13.
worked with w8.1  ...not working with w10

Lenovo Yoga 3 11" and having exactly the same issue. AltGr does not work no matter what. I tried to uninstall Synaptics but did not help.

I have the Lenovo Yoga 3 Pro with the same problem. But the problem appeared for me only after doing a clean install of the final version of Windows 10 which I downloaded from Microsoft. I have tried disabling but Microsoft services but that didn't help. I tried killing all the processes - that didn't help either. Any other ideas?

Went from Windows 8.1 Pro to Windows 10 Pro today on Lenovo Yoga 3 Pro.

Exactly the same issue. ALTGr keys do not work (Norwegian keyboard layout).

The workaround of pressing CTRL+ALT isn't very practical. Firstly, its not very ergonomic. Also, it will NOT WORK in work processors like Word or mail apps like Outlook - instead you will end up selecting a paragraph format with these keys. Try it.

Currently I'm forced into bringing up the onscreen keyboard every time I need to type my email address.

Also, until this is fixed I can not write any code in Visual Studio as the angle and curved brackets are too much trouble to hit. Oh dear.

Please fix this.
