DPC Watchdog Violation, Windows 10 Technical Preview

Hello all,

I have been running the preview for a few weeks now and it has been mostly stable for me.

I have experienced two blue screens with the DPC Watchdog Violation error.

I highly suspect that it is graphics related.

I am using a MSI FM2-A75MA-E35 Motherboard with integrated graphics.

When the error occurred I was using Google Chrome and working between multiple monitors.

The screen including the mouse pointer totally froze and the task manager could not be launched nor would the computer shut down using a tap of the power button. About 30 seconds later the blue screen appeared.

If anyone is experiencing similar issues, please post so that Microsoft and MSI are aware of the issue.

Thanks

I ran into this multiple times after installing Win10 Technical Preview Enterprise upgrade to my Windows 7 laptop.

The system restarted after 15 - 20 minutes or so regardless of what I was running.  I tried reviewing with SysInternal tools, but nothing obvious.  I suspected drivers because historically that has been a BSOD root cause, and I saw a change to the video drivers, but I confirmed I was running the most current vendor drivers and looked elsewhere for the root cause.

I searched for the bugcheck (below), and saw several references to BSOD when the system went to sleep.

The bugcheck was: 0x00000133 (0x0000000000000001, 0x0000000000001e00, 0x0000000000000000, 0x0000000000000000

My solution was to disable the Shutdown settings (Turn on fast startup, Sleep, and Hibernate).  This has resolved my BSOD issue.  I haven't re-enabled any of the settings to narrow it down, but will look into this further when I have time.

Hope this helps.

I've been having this problem since installing the previous build of Windows 10 on my Dell Inspiron. Today, the newest build tried to install, but it was rolled back. When I logged on, I got this error, and now it keeps restarting  -- can't even get to the logon screen. Help!

Did you try Safe Mode?  If you can get to your system logs maybe you can get the bugcheck code and we can research a bit.
