Unable to make Wifi Work in Acer Aspire Switch 10

Installed Windows 10 TP 9926 ate least 10 times in last 1 week. Every time unable to make WIFI work to get the system update. Driver shows no issue, but Network Icon always with x mark and says no network available.

Frustrated with the repeated installations as the search in to a proper driver could not resulted anything. Returned back to Windows 8,1. Apart from this system freezes every 15 minutes and requires forces shutdown. While same is working ok for my HP touch laptop

Issue System:

Acer Aspire Switch SW5-012 Hybrid with 64GB SSD. Installed by removing compressed OS partitions

Hi Uday ,

Thank you for your interest in windows 10 Technical Preview.

Sorry to know that you are unable to set up Wifi network on your Acer computer. This issue might have occurred due to incompatible Wireless LAN drivers.

Since this is just a preview version therefore there are no specific drivers available for Windows 10 Technical Preview.

Let us download the Wireless LAN drivers from Computer manufacturer’s website and install it in compatibility mode.

http://us.acer.com/ac/en/US/content/drivers

Make sure you download the drivers according to the bit version of your computer.

Refer the steps to install a driver in compatibility mode:

a) Right click on the setup file of the driver and select Properties.
b) Select Compatibility Tab.
c) Place a check mark next to Run this program in Compatibility mode and select the operating system accordingly from the drop down list.
d) Let the driver to install and then check the functionality.

Hi Tushar,

thanks for the reply. I have done two things here

1) used the original drivers from mt Acer backup

2) downloaded the latest drivers and bios from Acer website

after installation the exclamation mark in device manger is gone and realtek wifi adopter is appearing. But the x mark on wifi symbol still there and no network found. Also system is freezing very frequently

I solved this by uninstalling the device via device manager.

It reinstalled itself and was then working.
