Random HIDCLASS.SYS Blue Screen with Build 14986

Started getting a random HIDCLASS.SYS blue screen with error Page Fault in Non-Paged Area after upgrading to build 14986.  Have been running insider fast ring builds without issue prior to this build.  System is Lenovo Thinkpad X1 Tablet with m7 processor and 8GB with keyboard and productivity module installed running Windows 10 Pro.  I have tried removing the keyboard and productivity module as well as disabling devices such as camera to no avail.  No driver errors listed in driver manager.  Cannot duplicate when the error occurs.  Sometimes it occurs during startup, sometimes during shutdown and sometimes at random intervals while using.  Does not seem to be tied to touch screen.  I have the build installed on a number of other platforms and this is the only machine with the issue.

That sounds like mouse or keyboard. Are you in a position to do a Reset of Windows, or a clean install of 14986?

Are you getting a dump file from the bugcheck, that you have been able to read, that has any additional details?

Removal of the keyboard, which contains the trackpad and Thinkpad pointer, and removal of associated drivers does not stop or change the problem.

Rolled back to build 14971 and issue goes away.  Tried installing 14986 again and got the stop screen approximately 45% into the install.

Will stay with 14971 until next build comes out.  Trying to avoid the clean install choice for now.

We do need the actual log files (called a DMP files) as they contain the only record of the sequence of events leading up to the crash, what drivers were loaded, and what was responsible.

Please follow our instructions for finding and uploading the files we need to help you fix your computer. They can be found here

Hi Ian

Thanks for the reply.

My computer is running Windows 10 32 bit.

Since updating to 14986 it blue screens and restarts constantly.

The action to cause this is when I click on the One drive login window that had appeared in this version (14986).

I have gone back to the previous Windows 10 version and all is fine.

Because I am on the fast ring Win10 starts the update again. After the fresh install the OS is blue screening again.

So back to the previous version. And maybe wait for the next update.

Same here, random BSOD's in HIDCLASS.SYS when resuming from stand-by by pressing the spacebar on my keyboard. With previous builds I didn't have this issue.

Glad to find this. It has been driving me crazy for the last week. Whatever the problem is it causes my system to not come out of sleep mode.
