I have same problem, but I noticed when I Uninstall Realtek driver and let windows install standard  High definition Audio Driver (By Microsoft not by Realtek) and let this driver without any updating, the sound is working from laptop speaker. I hope Microsoft to solve this. thank you.

Hi!

I use asus n55sf and upgraded my os to new windows 10 at weekend. Everything is fine but there is no sound from speakers. I only could listen with headphones (don't know why). I searched about this problem and try everything and solve this problem for my laptop. here is the solution:

1-right click on ''this pc'' and click ''advanced system settings''

2-Click ''hardware'' tab and click on ''device installation settings''

3- Choose ''no, let me chosee what to do'' and ''never install driver software from windows update'' save changes and ok.

after this step I uninstall the soundcard driver from my laptop and restart it. after restart I can listen to music from my speakers without any installation about sound driver. Don't know how but it works. then I download and install the driver from asus website. the driver for windows 7 but its ok. it works well now.

Hi there,

I have an asus n55s and need to rebuild it with an external windows 7 installation disk. I was searching all the drivers and somehow it always brings me  to the asus n55sf drivers.

My question:

are these drivers from https://www.asus.com/Notebooks/N55SF/HelpDesk_Download/  valid for the n55s ?

and the other question is, can I find all the drivers in windows.old folder from the previous windows version and where are they stored if yes ?

thanks in advanced

Francesco

Windows keeps updating this and the sound disappears.

So just reinstall from Audio_Realtek_SM_Win7_64_Z6016413.zip  for Windows 7 from the Asus website and the sound is back.

Thanks. This worked for me as well. I have a N55SF Asus and perform a fresh install from Win 7 to Win 10. Post install, I could not get sound driver working. I tried uninstalling the RealTek driver and reinstalling. Tried this for both 32bit and 64bit versions. No matter what version was installed, upon reboot, OS would revert back to Realtek 32bit driver which fails to work.

So, I understand why the option ''never install driver software from windows update'' works here, but that's really not a great solution. Disabling windows from installing new driver software for all devices on the machine is less than ideal.

Hope Realtek can fix this issue with win 10!!
