What people may want from Windows 10

Your listening to what people want from an OS but still need to focus on individual needs and circumstances.

Wouldn't it be a good idea to have a Professional OS that is light on resources without any distraction from getting work done, a pure desktop OS with very low hardware specs and none of the modern apps that are more for entertainment.

A Home personal computer OS to be used without the need for discrete graphics, still very light on resources with some mild customizing options, keep the Modern Apps and full start Screen optional for touch enabled all in one PC's and bring back the old desktop start menu as an option, StartIsBack has done an excellent job doing this so I see no reason why you cant as well.

Make the explorer Ribbon optional, make more explorer options available to configure it to our liking, details pane on the right is utterly useless and should be returned to the bottom as an option, The local disk doesn't need to be grouped on it's own as well as This PC, it's just a waste of space, or at least make more options for what we want populated there like what you have for Libraries.

Make it consistent, if you go to your user folder and click on contacts the ribbon changes back to the old command module.

Make it Clear, it's very difficult to see what programs are running on the taskbar, the small bar at the bottom is very unclear and with grouped folders it becomes even worse.

The start button is now smaller and less attractive, the older style with the wave of color looked so much nicer.

Bring back some eye candy to the OS, Vista was a beautiful OS but sadly ahead of it's time and was not ready for the hardware, now we are now told that aero is dated but really it never got a chance to shine.

Stop making things over simplified, kids of today may be getting more stupid but making things dumber will not help them to become smarter and will only annoy smart people with experience.

Stop making people who want to use custom themes/msstyles use patching tools, make this a complete feature and consider your implementations of the desktop UI to ensure more areas are able to be themed to achieve a complete change, the ribbon is a big example where it was white so this pretty much broke any flow with custom themes unless 3rd party tools were used to disable it, consider the people who want a personal experience, we are not companies, we use our machines at home and for personal use.

Make it customizable, all icons should be changeable, logon screen backgrounds and more, you have a huge base of PC gamers out there who have spent thousands building their gaming rigs and are stuck with a boring desktop experience,  options are the key to success, the more options you give to the end user to Taylor their own experience the better, no one likes to have things forced on them.

Make a Windows Mobile that is fully compatible with the Windows Desktop, tiled apps are OK but folders and groups work better, take some tips from the success of others and then make it your own, Apple and Android are doing well for a reason, study them and master that domain.

Windows 10 is improving, but it is still trying to be all in one but a master of none, the desktop should remain the desktop a place where desktop only programs are launched, the new start menu is horrible and cluttered, the all programs is even worse for finding your programs and makes you scroll through all your modern apps before coming to your desktop apps, this still puts modern apps first over the tradition desktop and is not what people want, we do like the modern apps but we do not want to feel like they are being forced on us, they have a time and a place and I feel that was on the start screen.

I agree with everything you say.  There should be at least one version of Windows for Business that is desktop-centric without toys, and another one for Tablets for toys and gadgets, social media, bing, minecraft.
