Build 15002 - 2nd Monitor - Taskbar - Start Button - Blue Screen

Lenovo T420 with 2nd Monitor and Keyboard added for Desktop Work. I installed the new preview version 15002. After completing boot, none of my taskbar programs were on the taskbar. On the taskbar were the Start button, Cortana, Task View, Date and Time only. However, clicking on any of them was useless. They did not respond. So I had no access to any of my programs unless they were on the desktop.

One of the programs I did have on my desktop was a portable version of Tweaking.coms's  Windows Repair version 3.9.22. I ran it and my machine Blue Screened, "System Service Exception".

I disconnected the 2nd monitor and did a hard reboot. This time everything came up fine. the taskbar was populated properly and worked properly. I attached the 2nd monitor (VGA). It worked and the taskbar remained populated and working. I was able to get to Settings, the Control Panel, and to the Device Manager. All drivers were reported as properly working in the DM. Tweaking.com Windows Repair was again attempted and Blue Screened.

I booted again with 2nd monitor attached. Same problem. I rebooted with 2nd monitor not attached. Everything seemed to work fine except Windows Repair again Blue Screened.

I am considering going back to the previous preview version but will not do so if I can get these problems fixed

i found if you set the 2nd monitor as the primary display, the taskbar works perfectly. hope this can be the temporary solution. and we may should wait for the next build to solve this bug.

you should submit it with the feedback hub app in windows 10.

I have similar issues with my Dell E7440. The taskbar was frozen and I couldn't get it to work when plugged into the E port replicator (connected to 2 screens, one through the DVI port and the other through a rs-232 serial display port. When I booted just to my laptop screen without being plugged into the E port replicator it seemed to boot up properly and taskbar/start menu displayed properly. Because of this issue, I will probably have to back down to the previous version.  It also seems to boot slower as well.

A lot of things not working correctly in this build including the start menu, notification panel.  They seem to come and go at will.  Reboot can help but then lose them again or get weird tiles that can't be removed from the start menu.

It definitely seems to be an issue with the Display and DPI Scaling.  I am able to boot fine as long as I am not connected to any external displays on my laptop. I can then drop it into the port replicator and it will display fine on my display port connected Dell U2414H as well as the Serial Display port connected LCD monitor.

Unfortunately, I don't have an HDMI port on my Dell U2414H monitor. So that won't work for me.

My Second Monitor is on a HDMI Output, after Disconnecting my System works, It should have something todo with Graphic Display Settings, maybe with Lower Blue light automatically.

By the way the second Monitor was in standby ,not on and just connected. I will wait for a Fix.

NikosGk, you should be able to click the restart button, then disconnect your monitors from your laptop. Wait a few minutes for your computer to reboot and login. Then, after it sits, go ahead and connect your second monitor. That should work. Otherwise, try disconnecting the monitor, hit the windows key a few times, then reconnect the monitor after waiting a minute or so.
