Cortana on 14352 doesn't recognize new commands; syncing notifications doesn't work

Hello.

I have build 14352 installed on my PC. Its region is US, language is English, Cortana is available.

But I have the problem with Cortana. She doesn't recognize new commands as 'Set a timer for 10 minutes'. When I try to say it to her, she crashes or shows message 'I'm sorry, something went wrong. Try again in a little bit' or starts Edge with search query 'Set a timer for 10 minutes'.

I rebooted PC, tried sfc /scannow and DISM, tried Control Panel Troubleshooter. Nothing helped.

Today I installed build 14356 on my phone. I wanted to try syncing of notifications, but computer didn't sync them! Also when I send a photo to computer using Cortana, computer didn't show any messages about it.

Are there any ways to solve the problem without reinstalling Windows?

Hi Andrew,

I realize the inconvenience you are experiencing with Windows 10. I will certainly help you.

This issue might occur if there is change in Cortana settings.

To assist you to better, please provided us the information below:

  • When you say that "Its region is US, language is English", which English language pack have you installed on the computer? Have you installed English (US) language pack on the computer?
  • When you say that "doesn't recognize new commands as", are you able to use the basic Cortana commands?

I suggest you to refer to the Microsoft Help Article about Cortana features and check if it helps.

Refer to the section: Time based reminder.

Thanks for your feedback.

1) Yes, English US language pack is installed.

2) Yes, she easily tells me a weather or takes a reminder.

I'm insider, bugs are usual things for me. :)

UPD: syncing notifications now works. Maybe, phone needed some time to register. But new commands (Set a timer) don't work, I installed 14352 several days ago.

I'm talking about my computer, not phone!

Please, don't give me links to articles, which I know not worse than you, and, possibly, better than you.

I asked concrete question: are there any ways to solve the problem without reinstalling Windows?
