Inking in OneNote on Surface Pro 3 disappears!

I am using the 9926 build of Windows 10 Tech preview on a Surface Pro3. I have both OneNote 2013 and OneNote Tech Preview installed. If i try to use the ink on any of these OneNote apps the ink most times disappears after a few seconds. On some occasions if I minimize OneNote the ink will remain visible one the screen but will disappear once i switch back to OneNote (it will not be in OneNote neither). I have all the latest drivers and updates installed. is this a known issue?

I suppose the option "use pen as pointer is activated" and that's causing the issue. The icon is also a pen.

I'm also getting this issue as well as others that I found discussing it on Reddit. If anyone knows a solution that would be great. It seems to only happen in Onenote 2013 (desktop). The Onenote preview doesn't have this problem.

I am also getting it on the OneNote Preview too! And sometimes the eraser tool would not work in either version!

I'm on a SP3 using windows tech preview.  I have intermittantly had the pen in OneNote preview just stop working, but not the described disappearing words.  On the other hand, I cannot get the eraser (holding button in SP3 pen) to work.  It will erase some strokes but not all, even within the same letter character

OneNote on Surface Pro 3 is pretty much useless to me at this point since I can't use the pen--crashes almost immediately.

I am hoping they fix this soon.

I am seeing this issue as well.  Surface 3 Pro - OneNote 2013.

The handwriting will disappear for no apparent reason.   I believe this has something to do with the synchronization of OneNote to OneDrive.  My guess is that instead of writing the changes to OneDrive it is writing the last save on OneDrive back down to OneNote.

Are you guys saving your OneNote files locally or to the cloud?

Happends to My surface PRO 3 aswell, Both notebooks stored locally and in the Cloud.

seems like onenote 2013 and up has a very annoying bug visible in Windows 10, dont see this behaviour in other apps (dont use them as much though, simpel pdf annotating and drawing, so could be Windows 10 beta behaviour)

MS please fix!

Hey everybody. Sorry for the troubles!

It'd be super helpful for us if you could please describe whether you're using the OneNote Universal app shipped as part of Tech Preview or if you're using OneNote 2013. And then clarify what specific issues you're seeing with each.

If you're using OneNote 2013, please ensure that "Use pen as pointer" is disabled. To check:

  1. Go to the Draw tab
  2. Click the little double arrow next to the pen gallery to expand it
  3. Click "Pen Mode"
  4. Ensure that "Use Pen as Pointer" is not selected.

Also, if you could try inking with your mouse or with touch, and please let us know whether you're seeing the same issue. Thanks!
