Need to repair or reinstall Microsoft Edge

Microsoft Egde was working perfectly last night and when I went to use it this morning, I keep getting an error message saying I need to repair or reinstall the program. How do I fix just this one part, or do I have to reinstall Windows 10 all over again?

  1. Have you made any changes on the device prior to this issue?
  2. Which is the current Windows Build running on the computer?

 

I suggest you to install the latest Build 10166 on the computer and check if it helps.

I installed the 10166 update and Edge is not responding to when I click on a link.  The site works fine in IE and iEdge worked fine previous to updating.

I did not make any changes and was running 10162. It just stopped after I turned off my computer for the first time after the installation. I will try 10166 and see if that helps.

I have the same problem with build 10240, i can't open any page.

Edge seems to work, all menu's and settings are available and can be used.

But no page is opening in the browser, whatever i do

Sorry, but for those of us that trust Microsoft knows what it's doing.......... and have no technical expertise in computers what so ever. I turned on my computer today and edge, Cortana, store, notifications, or apps is not responding. Been searching for answers for 12 hrs and I really feel like I'm running in circles trying this trying that. I have no idea what a "Build 10166" is. Sorry if my frustrations are coming thru, but my win 7 was working just fine for the past 2 yrs. Now I have no clue what this is doing!!! I got Win 10 2 days ago. So its worked 50% of the time for me.

Same problem here.

I consider myself a bit more "computer-litterate" but the start menu, the search button right beside it and Edge are not working. Edge is actually out of the menus and I cannot find it anywhere...

I am having a same problem; contacted Microsoft Support last evening, they told me re-upgrade using ISO, I did so, but now Microsoft edge opens up and then closes immediately (no error), Crotona cannot connect to internet (although internet is working), Start Menu shows only 3 icons - no apps - no details on icons.

Microsoft Edge has never worked for me after upgrading from Windows 8.1, while IE and Google Chrome work no problem. I hope there is some Windows update to address this issue soon.
