Microsoft Edge internet cache issue

For a couple of days, I have been using CCleaner to remove large amounts of internet cache (usually 1-2 GB per day) for Microsoft Edge. However, in only a couples days use, I have hit over 6 GB of internet cache. I am not quite sure if the issue is with Microsoft Edge or if it is with my PC. Having used Firefox prior, I have never seen such an issue.

I would suggest you to follow the below steps to clear the cache from Edge and check if the issue persist.

  1. Open Edge browser.

  2. On the top right corner click on the three dots

  3. Then below click on Settings

  4. Under clear browsing data

  5. Tap or click on Choose what to clear

  6. From the list check cached data and files, browsing history

  7. And click on clear.

I would also suggest you to clear all temporary files from your computer and check if it helps:

Press Windows+R key on the keyboard.

Type %temp% and hit Enter.
