When I open site local.dev in Edge it allways says that it can't find. This site is hosted from vagrant and defined in my hosts file. Other browsers don't have problem with it and by other I mean every other browser. Even if I go to IP address directly
it won't open (yes this method works in other browsers). Even localhost sites with diffrent port won't work in Edge. Is there a way to fix this behavior?
As per the description, I understand that you’re facing issues using Microsoft Edge as it doesn’t display/find your website. I will certainly help you with the issue.
I would like to know a few information:
Are you using any proxy settings?
Is the PC connected to Server/Domain network?
Are you using any Antivirus/Security software?
Method 1: Clear cache and data
Refer to the link below for steps to clear your browsing data and cache.
1. Open Internet Explorer.
2. Click Tools and then click Internet Options.
3. Then click the Connections tab.
4. Then click the LAN Settings button.
5. Uncheck the option which reads" Use a proxy server for your LAN."
6. Click apply and then ok.
Method 3:
If you are using third party security software, try disabling third party security software and check. Disable third-party Security Software.
a. You should see an icon for your Antivirus program in the Task-bar notification area. It is usually at the bottom right corner of your desktop.
b. Click on the third-party Security Software Icon, you will see a pop up.
c. In that pop and select the option to disable, click on it.
d. Now the third-party Security Software will be disabled.
Disclaimer: Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you shouldn't disable your antivirus software. If
you have to temporarily disable it to install other software, you should re-enable it as soon as you're done. If you're connected to the Internet or a network while your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.
Hope this information helps.
Please provide us the required information to search more about this and understand the issue more clearly and we will be glad to offer our assistance.
Thank you.
Sincerely,
Ankit Rajput
