Your Phone - does not accept my phone number

Hi there,

I am trying to setup the "Your Phone" application.  I have it installed and I am logged in to my Microsoft account on my Android phone.  When I start the application on my computer, when I click the "Link phone" button, it brings up a window asking for my phone number "to send an app link to my phone".  When I enter my phone number, it gives an error message:  Please enter a valid phone number.  I am using PA - 507 area code, and my correct phone number.

I already have the application on my phone, and I am logged in.  Is there any way to skip this phone number part since it is not recognizing my phone number?  Should the app work with a Panama phone number?

Thanks,

Jeff

I wonder if you need to enter the direct dial prefix that would be used to call your mobile phone from the USA. It means entering a 14-digit number:

011-507-6xxx-xxxx

Hi everyone,

Thanks for the answers.  It is step 5 from the first link where it fails.  The area code option is a drop down, so there is no way to type direct dial info.

Select the country / country code - PA (+507) and enter my phone number - which I know is valid and works.   But the Microsoft Account app / window gives the error "Please enter a valid phone number"

I am logged into my computer and the Microsoft app on my phone using the same account.  The phone shows in my Microsoft account profile.

I suspect it's the same problem I had.

my UK mobile number 07590 ******, so the international number is +44 7590 ******, you drop the leading zero.

Give it a try

Unfortunately there is not a leading number that can be removed.  I have tested sending international text messages to my phone from US and they get thru.  Using the same number on the "Link your Android" to this PC and and it always says "Please enter a valid phone number"
