Universal Mail App: Your account settings are out of date

I am on build 10130 of Windows 10. I have added three email accounts to the email app, all of which are provided by outlook.com and all three of which use custom email addresses managed by the now-defunct Custom Domains service at http://admincenter.live.com

two of the accounts consistently (and by that I mean almost once a day) get the message "Your <account> account settings are out of date."

I press the "Fix Account" button but all that happens is a dialog pops open for a second or two with the words "Working on it..." displayed. When I try and sync my mail again the same thing happens.

The only way to fix it seems to be to remove the account and add it in again.

incredibly annoying. Anyone know what the problem is?

thanks

Jamie

P.S. Attempting to submit this post from Chrome doesn't work. doesn't ANYTHING in Microsoft work properly?

I have submitted via the Windows Feedback app but that is a one-way feedback mechanism, which i despise. Answers.microsoft.com is a two-way feedback mechanism (i.e. someone can reply) hence why I'm hoping someone here might have some insider knowledge.

Having same problem.

Restart and soft reset no help either.

App doesn't prompt for a password when fix account is attempted.  Recurring problem in Windows 10 preview but usually doesn't persist like this.

It would be grate if you can give us that feedback because this is my daily driver and i rely on the mail app. What is strange about this is that both yahoo and gmail works well with Microsoft mail app but outlook has problems.

Hi Jamie,

Please answer the following questions so that we can help you.

  1. Do all 3 accounts work individually on Outlook.com website?

  2. Did those accounts work on previous builds in Mail App?

  3. Are there any accounts that work like normal accounts without any aliases or Custom Domain related email accounts (Plain Hotmail.com/Live.com Account)?

Please get back to us with the information required, we’ll be glad to assist you.
