Your Phone app - Apps Feature: Recent Apps

Building on the existing Apps feature, we are excited to announce another feature for the Your Phone app. Now you can enjoy more continuity from your phone to your PC. Easily access the three most recently used apps from the Your Phone icon in the Windows Notifications area of your taskbar or from the top of your apps page inside the Your Phone app. The feature is gradually rolling out to Windows Insider community on select Samsung devices (details below). Give it a try and let us know what you think!

 

 

How do I interact with Recent Apps?

  1. To access Recent Apps from the flyout

    1. On your Windows taskbar on the right bottom corner, click on ^

    2. Click on the Your Phone icon

    3. In the flyout,

      1. you can click on the app to launch it or

      2. you can right-click on the app and click on “Open” to launch it

  2. To access Recent Apps from Your Phone app

    1. Launch Your Phone app

    2. Go to Apps

    3. At the top of Apps page, you will see “Recently used” section showing you the three most recently used apps

    4. You can click on the app to launch or right click on the app & click “Open” to launch it

Setting up and using Recent Apps

To use Recent Apps, you will need:

  • A PC running Windows 10 or above

    • To check and update your version of Windows, on your PC go to Settings > Updates & Security > Check for update

  • An Android device running Android 9.0 or greater, with Link to Windows.

  • Your Android device and PC to be connected to the same Wi-Fi network

  • Recent Apps work for

    • Your Phone app versions 1.21092.145.0 or higher from Microsoft Store. Older versions of the Your Phone app will not show Recent Apps.

    • Link to Windows on your Samsung device version 1.21083.49.0 or higher.

Supported Devices

Recent Apps is available on select Samsung devices that have Link to Windows, with OneUI 3.1.1 or higher such as:

  • Samsung Galaxy Z Fold

  • Samsung Galaxy Z Flip

  • Samsung Galaxy S series

  • Samsung Galaxy Note series

Known Issues

  • Unable to launch Office mobile apps from Apps
