.NET KB4555452 after every new build

https://aka.ms/AA8ikxo

This is FB for the .NET KB4555452 showing up after every new Insider build

for several weeks.

ADDED: Only the latest one shows in the Update History.

There have been some problems with .NET getting into an unrecoverable state with several prior versions of Windows 10.

I wonder if installing the latest .NET Cumulative Update after each Windows 10 OS upgrade is being done deliberately, to ensure that .NET remains stable and working.

Strange, very strange & weird indeed.

Windows 10 Insider since 10/02/2014
Never Give Up!

Thank you CK.

Got this CU first with 19624, then again with 19628, now again with 19631.

Just finished updating my 32 bit 19631 and KB4555452 appeared and downloaded immediately.

But KB4555452 only shows once each time in view update history?

So is KB4555452 not included in the new builds and we have to re-install it for each new build?

We don't know yet.

This is why I filed Feedback and notified Eddie.

He didn't think we should be seeing it every build.

Hello CK,

Think what may be occurring, I checked the SoftwareDistribution\Download folders looking for KB4555452 with build 19628 and all the folders were already empty. As WU checks for this KB, not finding it, it appears to be downloading it over again as it does not exist anymore.

Will check the folders again after upgrading to 19631 later this evening.

Regards,

Johnny

Hello CK,

Well after doing upgrade and running WU, sure enough KB4555452 installed again. Here is the file that went missing from SoftwareDistribution\Download folder from previous build:

I ran both Disk Cleanup and Storage Sense manually and the file remained. No clue when and why it is disappearing.

Johnny

I clean-installed build19631 today ( May 23rd ) and then checked Windows Update.

KB4555452 showed up immediately in WU and installed.

I updated to build 19640.1 yesterday - booted the system this morning and after about two hours a blue reboot message appeared saying KB4555452 had been installed and it was time to reboot.

I would think this issue would have have been fixed by now.

The .NET issue has been reported and is being

investigated.

For now we will get it with every new build.
