Multiple desktop disapears after rebooting

I'm using Windows 10 with parallels desktop on a iMac. All is going fine but if create , for example, 3 différents desktop, they are avaliable during all the session but not when I restart after a shutdown.

Hi Christian,

Thank you for posting your query in Microsoft Community.

Multiple desktop thread/process gets reset after every Windows login, that is the reason previous session is lost.

Reason: Say you have 5 different applications running on each desktop that you have created. Now for a computer to remember are:

  • Last state of the running application.
  • CPU memory usage consumption.
  • User application authentication Details (which are specific to each login sessions) etc. is impossible.

That is the reason Windows resets this feature on every restart.

Hope the information provided is helpful. Do reply, if you need further help.

Maybe being able to restart with empty desktops and have some configuration remembered per desktop (for example background and desktop/taskbar shortcuts) might be a compromise.
