I work at a large, enterprise-grade operation. When our users get their workstations, the OS is already installed, configured and locked-down. Consistency is critical to us, and needless fluff, like live tiles, are just wasted space. Our focus is to get
the end-users as productive as possible in as short a time as possible, without the distractions of live tiles, entertainment centers, the cloud or having to search for and remember the location of additional power options, like logging off. Almost all large
organizations decided to skip Win 8 due to the distractions built in ... Win 10 (so far) looks like just another service pack for Win 8.
During the Win 10 announcement event, MS indicated that the new OS was designed with Enterprise in mind. So far, I've seen virtually no evidence of that. In fact, I'm seeing virtually no evidence of a new OS. We are currently exploring our options. Do
we wait for another Win OS to be released? (2 more years) or start researching a migration to another OS, such as Linux, like the Bavarian State government has done?
