Is 920X1080 The Highest Screen Resolution?

The highest screen resolution does not properly fit my computer screen. What I mean is that there are black bars on the top and sides. Is there any update or way to fix this?

Hi Mark

This is probably not an issue with the screen resolution. These settings are designed to use all of available space on the screen, regardless of the settings.

You can check this by selecting another, much lower resolution setting. You will likely see the same problem with the black areas.

This is usually fixed by the settings in the Graphics Device options.

In these options, look for a setting to Scale to full panel size or something similar.

You can also check with the graphic device manufacturer for updated drivers and information about this problem.

Let us know what you find.

You can manage a  '7,680(1920x4)    X    4,320(1080x4)'  resolution, provided you have a matching Graphics card and 'UHD Monitor'.

I have encountered this phenomenon several times when using beta drivers - in the case of the Windows 10 Technical Preview, all drivers should be considered beta.

If using ATI/Radeon graphics, bring up your Catalyst Control Center.  There should be an option on the left for "My Digital Flat-Panels" - go to this and select "HDTV Support (Digital Flat Panel)".  For some reason, beta drivers tend to default to 10% underscan.  Simply adjust the slider to 0% and you should be good to go.

I don't have access to my nVidia system atm, but I recall a similar setting for their control center.
