Hidden Task bar icons will not display in full on task bar

Desktop PC i5 + 8 gig RAM  , Windows 10  build  10074.

24 in Monitor 1920 x 1080

Unable to get the hidden icons on the RHS adjacent to the clock to display in full in the task bar.

Have tried the Properties as normal but still will not display all.

All that is currently displayed in full is: Speakers, Networks & New Notifications

Do you have a little triangle there also.

Hi Deno,

I understand task bar icons is not displayed full.

This might be caused due to settings, please try the below suggestion and check if it helps:

  • Right click the task bar and select properties.
  • Choose taskbar buttons to never combine.
  • Also select the customize button and check always show all icons and notifications on task bar.

Refer to the below image:

Hope this information helps, for further assistance please reply.

Hi Vinodh,

 Thanks for your reply.

Normally the dialogue shown in your reply is what I would use to display all the icons .

However on the dialogue window I had, the option shown in your red circle was not present and therefore could not enable the hidden icons all the time .

In a another reply there was suggestion how to get into the normal Control Panel. where I could see this CUSTOMIZE  option icon as shown  in the red circled dialogue window .

I activated it there and this has now allowed all the icons on the taskbar to be viewed.

I wondered if there is a bug that prevented me seeing the   CUSTOMIZE  option I normally expect to see as you described.

Thanks for your help.

Deno

NO Triangle to be seen.

However had another suggestion for access to the Control panel; where this option allowed the hidden icons to be viewed in full.

At the time the Customize option to show all icons in the taskbar properties was missing , hence posting the question to find out if the option was moved elsewhere.

  Now all is well.

 Thanks for your suggestion.

Deno

Theses settings changed in the previous build, then again in 10074. In 10074 you can view this as the 'new' settings;

Settings > System > Notifications & actions > Select which icons appear on the taskbar

If you had a Customise... button on Taskbar properties it would take you to 'Notifications & actions' and then selecting 'Select which icons appear on the taskbar' would get you there.

Your mention of the Control Panel is spot on, I did not know that  With the 'old' settings, the selection  almost matches the 'new' settings on my system, but the 'old' settings seems to show the history of what has been displayed in the notification area as well.
