Goodbye Google Chrome, Hello Microsoft Edge

A few weeks after having tested Microsoft Edge I decided to uninstall Chrome from all my laptops/desktops and now using Microsoft Edge as my main browser.

I’m not looking back. I’m now happy with the new Microsoft Edge. Although Chrome is almost a perfect browser, but there are things that I dislike intensely:

  • X button visible on every tab, which makes tabs looks ugly and error-prone to accidental close
  • Non-rectangular tabs look ugly and outdated
  • Heavy on battery

Microsoft Edge is of course not perfect yet, but everything about it holds great promises, at least for the time being it is fast, lightweight and looks better than Chrome.

Edge is ok, but I'll still use Chrome as I'm able to open 4 browsers (I know you can open tabs) in both but Edge will only let you open one browser, as I was using three monitors  now with my 32" and with Win10 I can put 4 browsers on one screen and able to open and close them with out causing the others to close, I use this set up with online auctions which at times I might have 3 or 4 going at the same time, now if Microsoft would allow this with Edge I might just change.

Does "New Window" (Control + N) work for you?

This is a personal choice. The main thing I don't like with Edge is the right click context is not as full featured as Chrome.

It still only allows one  Edge browser

Not sure if I follow you - Each window works independently because they all run on different threads, so closing a window does not really impacts other windows. Same with Google Chrome, each time you open a window or start a new browser, it will run on a different thread although it will give an illusion as if you run a different instance of the browser.

This is incorrect, you can open a new window using ctrl + n. You can also just drag and drop the tab and it creates it in a new window.

I just tested this on Edge and glad to see that you now can open 4 windows/tabs good going Microsoft, as with Spartan when you open them an then closed the first one it would close all of them, maybe time to switch from Chrome to Edge... time will tell
