God Mode & other Windows 10 Tips & Tricks

I have heard of God Mode in the past, but this Tweet from Dona Sarkar got me looking up how to activate it.  It is amazingly easy to activate.

Create a new folder on your Windows Desktop (or in any other folder that you might want to have this God Mode icon) and change the name to:

God Mode.{ED7BA470-8E54-465E-825C-99712043E01C}.

You need to have the folder name exactly as shown, with the period before and after the .{ }.

@ Don Thanks Something new to play with. Set it in Tiles view and it looks good.

Most recent install of GodMode for me was 6 weeks ago. I forgot to name it though so it appears on the desktop as an icon but with no name.

Even though I named mine, it still shows no name, except in the top address line once it is open.  I just tried it, only naming the folder:

.{ED7BA470-8E54-465E-825C-99712043E01C}. and it still worked.  I haven't found any way to have it display any icon title.

Same here Don, no name, but the icon is there.  It'll pin to Quick Access, but I can't get it to pin to the Start Menu.

Tab completion in PowerShell.  Otherwise I would have to create a PowerShell script to do this:

LS -Re -Fi * -Fo -EA:S<tab>  |  sort Lastw<tab> | ft Lastw<tab>, Le<tab>, F<tab>  -A<tab> -W<tab>

Actually now that I see it written out like that maybe I should create that script after all.   ; )

There is some more like this GodMode. Any use or not? Depend on your needs.

Update = Replace old bugs with new ones.

If you want name to be shown you can create "GodMode" as a Shortcut.

1. Create new shortcut to desktop

2. Give "Location Intem" %windir%\explorer.exe shell:::{ED7BA470-8E54-465E-825C-99712043E01C}

3. Name as you whish

4. Select shortcut properties, click change icon, paste %windir%\System32\imageres.dll  to "Look for icons in this file"-field and select icon you like

Hi.

This is still an ongoing issue for some time.

Thanks, Pauli.  I named mine  How To...  and selected the I, in the triangle icon.
