Does Windows 10 recognize two Xeon processors in a workstation PC?

I'm building a workstation with two Xeon e5-2620v3 processors and am wondering if Windows 10 will recognize two xeons like windows 8.1 pro.

2 x 2620v3 processors

16GB DDR4 ECC Crucial memory

X10DAX Supermicro motherboard

EVGA GTX770 2GB video card

Update: I made the jump and it fortunately works like a charm. I'm just running into sleep mode issues where the computer refuses to wake up. Other than that, everything runs as smooth as it can be.

Hi,

Thank you for being a part of Windows 10 Technical Preview testing.

In-order to install Windows 10 you need to have Processor: 1 gigahertz (GHz) or faster as per the model number you have provided Xeon e5-2620v3 is 2.10 GHz I would suggest you to see the following link for more information and system requirements to install Windows 10.

I know that what Windows 10 requires. What I don't know is what kind system builds it can support. What your link doesn't tell me and what I want to know is if a two physical processor system is supported by Windows 10. In other words, I have two Intel Xeon processors in my workstation and want to know if Windows 10 will recognize both processors.

You can try using the Windows 8.x Upgrade Assistant. Early on in the Windows 10 Beta Test Program, this was the recommended tool to use if you weren't sure:

Thanks Rick. I would use that, but I already have windows 10 installed. I'll just jump in, try it out, and post the results after I try it out.

Did it work for your Xeon workstation ?

Mine (2x 2 core Xeon) is hitting 30-40% service interrupts nearly all the time since the official upgrade and running anything soon takes it upto 80-100% CPU with terrible performance.

Thanks

Hi everyone.

I can tell the windows 10 wont run on my dual xeon HP z600 system.

The upgrade from 8.1 x64 interrups at ~75%. After disabeling the second CPU in BIOS the upgrade worked well, but with the second CPU enabled windows 10 wont start (Bootloop).

I would sugest to stay at 8.1 til microsoft had fixed this pain.

Yes it does. It recognizes both processors and works like a charm for my two E5-2620v3. I can't tell you what's causing the heavy service interrupts and what's making such a huge impact on your processors, but I have an idea that it's Windows 10's new set background tasks. What Xeons are you using?

God that would **** me off. The HP z600 series of machines use the X56.. intel processors. Maybe the processors aren't supported properly because of their age in the technology world. I have an apple machine with one x5680 and haven't tried to upgrade that one.

there are two x5570 in my Workstation. but after an frustrating phone call to Microsoft there is an "Workaround":

a clean install from DVD works like a charm. The Error only happens while upgrading from 8.1 to 10.
