IE 9 suddenly running slow and not loading web sites

IE 9 on Windows 7 all of a sudden became very slow. Tried Microsoft Fix it, disable add-ons, reset all settings, uninstalled and re-installed IE 9, tried going back to IE8, and tried to perform a clean startup disabling both the service items and the startup items. IE9 still slow and doesn't load websites. Spent hours trying to fix this and don't want to pay $99 for Microsoft help for an internet browser when I can switch to a free one. Google Chrome and Firefox work fine so its not my internet connection. Any ideas? Thanks.
