IE 9 status bar error messages for javascript

IE 8 and versions before that display an error message message on the status bar when there is a problem with a web page. I program a lot of web pages and when I have a problem (in javascript) I always look to the status bar for an error message. There is not a message displayed with IE 9 on the status bar. Is there a way to turn this on? If so, how?

Also, I just noticed that by double clicking the status bar the error message display form appears (I purposely created an error). The form appears although no error message was displayed on the status bar. I hope this option will not disappear because I really depend on it. Thanks for any information about this.

Can this be relayed to the IE 9 development team?

Answer
Well, I spoke too soon. There is a developer tools option on the tools menu. This will come in handy and may have already been there in IE 8. I was just used to the messages on the status bar and used that for javascript problems.
