Hi,

If Babylon is the homepage, try removing it and selecting another from Internet Options> General> Home page.

If Babylon is a Search Provider or toolbar, go to Internet Options> Programs> Manage add-ons:
Under Search Providers, if Babylon is listed you should be able to right-click> Remove
Under toolbars and Extensions (Show: All add-ons) if Babylon is listed, disable it.

Let me know how this works out.

Don

Hi Don,

Thank you very much for your reply.

Based on your suggestion, I went to Tools, Internet Options, General and saw Babylon. I removed it and replaced by Google. Aso, I went to Search Default and clicked Google as default. Already it was done and my Google came back on. I didn`t bother to go into Manager Add-Ons.

Thank you again!

Hi Don,  Same issue.  Babylon does not appear in any of these places, but still when I search, even though my default is google, the babylon search window opens.  The babylon toolbar is listed in my regedit, however someone said to delete it's location in the left pane of the window.  There is a huge list in the left pane and I am not sure what to delete there.

Hi,

Did you look at Manage add-ons to see if Babylon is a search provider or add-on?

Go to Internet Options> Programs> Manage add-ons:
Under Seach Providers, if Babylon is listed you should be able to right-click> Remove
Under toolbars and Extensions (Show: All add-ons) if Babylon is listed, disable it

Is this the registry key?
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\SearchScopes

When you select (left click) a GUID string in the left pane, the search providers name should be visible in the right pane so that you can identify the provider before deleting it.

Thanks Don,

It is not listed in the add-ons.  Ask, Bing, Google, and Yahoo are listed in the SearchScopes registry along with this one which on the right side of the screen only says Deleted Type=Reg_DWORD 0x00000001 (1)

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\SearchScopes\{461fc775-35b6-4d0b-9ff3-af280bfaba83}

Don't know what else to do or look for.  I sent Babylon an email last night, but of course no reply.
