Error 0x80096001 when accessing certain websites

When trying to access certain websites, for example www.chase.com error  0x80096001 appears.  I've experiences this error in IE 8 and IE 9 beta version.  The webpage error displays this:

Package ID:  Unknown

Path: C:/Windows/Diagnostic/System/Networking

Error Code:  0x80096001

Sourcing: Engine

User: Jacek_PC_Jacek

Context: Restricted

 

This error doesn't happen when accessing www.yahoo.com or www.msn.com.  Also every single time I click on any icon on the deskkto to start a program I get the warning messages if I'm sure I want to allow to open this product.

When you downloaded the Fix It did you also Run/Open it?

Did the Fix It complete correctly or did it provide any information when it finished?

 

Let’s also test to see if a new user profile has the same problems as the ones you are experiencing. To do this follow the first portion of steps provided in this troubleshooting guide:

Fix a corrupted user profile

 

Then log into the newly created user profile and test to see if the same problems occur. If not, the next step will be to follow the remaining steps of the above troubleshooting guide to transfer the user data from the old user profile to the new user profile.
