Windows mail not receiving or sending emails!

For the last two days or so, one of my email accounts is not receiving any mail, including test emails we had friends send to us.

Furthermore, when trying to send an email to a different user on this computer, the letter was sent, but never went to the email I wanted...it came to the address I sent it from...the only email I've received in a couple of days.

Also, when I hit Synchronize and Send/Receive, I get the error message window, but in the little tab where there would be an error code, it si blank, yet the window says an error has occurred!

What gives?

Please help, I've been putting too much money into this computer since April (4 viruses, despite my paranoia and prevention of viruses)

Answer

If a copy of the message is found in Sent Items folder, the problem lies somewhere outside of Windows Mail.

You will find support for Windows Mail (Vista) in this forum: http://social.answers.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/vistanetworking/threads

And in this newsgroup (at least for now): http://www.microsoft.com/communities/newsgroups/list/en-us/default.aspx?dg=microsoft.public.windows.vista.mail
