Question

Q: IE8 'Not Working' This thread is locked from future replies

I started getting an error message today when I tried to launch IE8. It stated that 'Internet Explorer has stopped working', and gave me the opportunity of letting it try to find a solution. I did accept, but it didn't find one.

The problem seems to survive a re-boot.

Upon forced-closure of the program I get the following system error message:

'Exception EAccessViolation in module ShellEh440.dll at 00008A08.
Access violation at address 00358A08 in module 'ShellEh440.dll'. Write of address 00000000.'

Can anyone advise me what to do to solve this please?

Ta.

Answer

A:

By any chance you are using 4t tray minimizer ? If you are, try removing it. If you aren't it might be that another addon causes the problem. Try clicking "Tools"->"Manage addons" and try disabling addons one by one.
