Hi austo,

Yahoo Messenger issue:

Which version of Yahoo messenger is installed on the computer?

The error message is quite common with Yahoo messenger and there are many instances of the same. You can look up for the error message in Yahoo answers forum.

You can try this suggestion to fix the issue.

Method 1:

a)   Go to the installation path of Yahoo Messenger. By default it should be C:\Program files\Yahoo!\Messenger

b)   There should be two .reg files such as default.reg and intl.reg.

c)    Merge the two files by doing this:

d)   Select both the files and right-click on it.

e)   Click on the option to merge.

That should be it.

In case Method 1 fails, go to method 2.

Method 2: Uninstall and Reinstall Yahoo Messenger

An article from Yahoo Help is available which you can refer to.

Uninstall and Reinstall Yahoo! Messenger in Windows Vista and Windows 7

Favorites issue:

Installing Internet Explorer 8 doesn’t delete favorites by default. You can locate your favorites below.

C:\Documents and Settings\Username\Favorites

If your favorites are there, you can import them into IE 8.

About your Photos getting deleted, I’m not sure how this is related to Internet Explorer. Where were the photos originally located?
