We have various customers who export Illustrator AI artwork to JPG web files. These web files contain embedded metadata (XMP). However when you try to view these files in Internet Explorer (we are using IE8), it displays as a red X. The JPG files however display correctly using image editors such as MS Paint, and also other browsers such as Firefox.
A sample JPG file we have contains content such as http://ns.adobe.com/xap/1.0/ <?xpacket begin="" id="W5M0MpCehiHzreSzNTczkc9d"?>.... which will not display in IE.
Re-saving the JPG file then strips out the XMP packet, then allowing IE to display the image correctly.
Does anyone know if this is a known issue with Internet Explorer, or available fixes?
