Internet explorer cannot find server or DNS error

I have a PC705 netbook. I'm trying to connect it to my BT homehub 2 through a wireless connection. The netbook finds my homehub ok, but when I try to get on the internet through internet explorer it doesn't load up at all. I've tried a hard wire connection and the internet explorer works fine. Is it just a settings issue?? Please help!!!!!!

·         Which version on Windows is installed on your computer?

·         When you get connected to the BT homehub while connected wirelessly what is the IP address aggigned to your computer?


You may check the IP address using the ipconfig command in command prompt.

To open command prompt

1.       Click on Start

2.       In the start search bar type cmd, right click on the search result and select ‘Run as Administrator’

3.       In the command prompt window type ‘ipconfig’

That will give you the IP address post back with the same.



If you are using Windows 7 you may use the internet connection troubleshooter and check what happens. Follow the link for the same.
