Internet Explorer 32 bit in Windows 7 suddenly won't connect to the internet. The 64 bit version works great. I am stumped on this any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

When I start IE Explorer (32 bit), eventually goes to a familiar page cannot connect. I start connection trouble shooter (it always comes back connected to internet. I have checked to see if I am online, under the files menu, and I am. The 54 bit version works great. I have Norton 360 Toolbar Installed on 32 bit version, and a paypal addon.

Hi,

Welcome to Microsoft Windows 7 Answers Forum!

First we would suggest you to disable the security program on your computer and check for the issue.

You need to perform an Internet explorer Optimization and check for the issue.

You need to follow the link provided below to perform an IE optimization on your computer.

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/936213

If the issue still exits then try Internet Explorer with no addons - start, all programs, accessories, system tools

If it behaves, go back to normal Internet Explorer and go into tools, manage addons and

disable addons one at a time until you find the culprit.  Then you can see if there is an

update or just leave it disabled for the time being.

Now you can follow manage addons.

Now if the issue still persists then you may perform these below provided steps to reset IE

settings to default.

1. Click Start, please type “inetcpl.cpl” (without quotation marks) in the Start Search bar

and press Enter to open the Internet options window.

2. Switch to the Advanced tab.

3. Click the "Reset Internet Explorer Settings" button.

4. Click Reset to confirm the operation.

5. Click Close when the resetting process has finished.

6. Uncheck the "Enable third-party browser extensions" option in the Settings box.

7. Click Apply, click OK.

If you find any difficulty in performing the above provided steps then you may follow the

link below to run the fixit tool on your computer.
