I keep seeing the "Error On Page" showing up on the bottom left hand corner of the websites

I keep seeing the "Error On Page" showing up on the bottom left hand corner of the website on many websites and can't even open certain webpages which I otherwise could open the page if I use another computer.   I am using Windows 7 Home 64 Bit and internet explorer 8 but still get that error message.  Can someone tell me how to fix it and what's the problem?  I also can't seem to be able to open a link to download.

Thanks.

Hi ibusiness,

You may try the below methods and check if it resolves:

1.      Run Internet explorer with no add-ons. Information about add-ons: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/Internet-Explorer-add-ons-frequently-asked-questions

Steps to open Internet with no add-ons mode:

i.           Click on start

ii.         In the search box type in Internet explorer

iii.       Select Internet(No add-on mode)

If you are able to work then, add-on may be causing the error.

Steps to determine which add-on may be causing the error

i.           Open Internet explorer.

ii.         Click the Tools button, click Manage add-ons, and then click Enable or disable Add-ons

iii.       In the show list, click Add-ons that have been used by Internet Explorer to display all add-ons.

iv.        Click the Add-ons you want to enable, and then select Enable.

v.          Repeat step iv for every add-on you want to enable.

2.      Open the website in the compatibility mode and check if the issue still persists. Steps to follow:

i.           Put the URL link in the address bar

ii.         Click on Compatibility tab beside the address bar

Here is the link below for reference: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/internet-explorer/features/easier.aspx

3.      If the above steps does not resolve then perform Internet Explorer optimization; follow the steps listed below in link. If the problem does not resolve then run the Fix it tool to reset internet explorer and check if the issue resolves.
