Error: "12007: The server name or address could not be resolved" and error: "Internet Explorer cannot display webpage" while running diagnose connection problem.

Original Title: Network adapter status not healthy

I'm having problems connecting my laptop to the internet via Internet Explorer  8.  I get an error that says Internet Explorer cannot display webpage and when I run the the Diagnose Connection Problem on a wired connection I get the following log.  I using Windows XP Home Edition and Verizon is my internet service provider.

Method 1: Update the driver for the Network Adapter to the latest by visiting the manufacturer’s website.

Winsock corruption can cause connectivity problems.
