Can't upload pictures to many internet sites

I have tried to upload pictures to Facebook, Snapfish, etc and it aways freezes when I try to get into the picture folders to select my photo.  I also have Norton 360 and uninstalled it and still had the same issue so I don't think it's the security settings on Norton.  What should I be doing?

I actually was able to fix the issue.  It turns out that deep in one of my picture folders was a corrupt video file that was freezing all the uploads.  Once I was able to find the file and delete it, I had no issues.  Thank you everyone for all your help and I wish I had realized this was such a simple fix - it would have saved me weeks of headaches!

Chances are you're seeing the effects of a hijackware infection, one that was already present when you installed N360 in March (after running w/out an AV app for 5+ months).

See...

     Cleaning a Compromised System

Back-up any personal data (none of which should be considered 100% trustworthy at this point) then format the HDD & do a clean install of Windows. Please note that a Repair Install (AKA in-place upgrade) will NOT fix this!

HOW TO do a clean install of Vista: See the "If you want to reinstall Windows Vista by performing a clean installation..." section ofhttp://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-vista/Installing-and-reinstalling-Windows-Vista

After the clean install, you will have the equivalent of a "new computer" so take care of everything on the following page before otherwise connecting the machine to the internet or a local network (i.e., other computers) and before connecting a flash drive, SDCard, or any other external drive to the computer:

Tip: After getting the computer fully-patched, download/install KB971029 manually before connecting any external drive to the computer:http://support.microsoft.com/kb/971029

NB: The Norton free-trial will be reinstalled (but invalid) when Windows is reinstalled. You MUST uninstall the free-trial AND download/run theNorton Removal Tool BEFORE installing any updates, Windows Service Packs or IE upgrades AND BEFORE installing your new anti-virus application.

If these procedures look too complex - and there is no shame in admitting this isn't your cup of tea - take the machine to a local, reputable and independent (i.e., not BigBoxStoreUSA or Geek Squad) computer repair shop.

Wish I'd had better news for you. Good luck!
