Strange, whenever I try to open an online pdf file with Internet Explorer I receive:

On Windows Vista I managed to resolve the problem by repairing Adobe Reader from that application's menu. I thought that the problem was due to HP printer that I have and its software being somehow incompatible with Adobe's software. I was happy that, after removing as much of HP software and add-ons as it was possible and disallowing it to update, and repairing Adobe Reader, I was able to view online pdfs.
Not on Windows 7 however.
I would appreciate, if anyone could comment on this issue and suggest any possible causes or solutions.
