Internet Explorer disconnected from the internet

I recently purchased a Win 7 machine with IE8.  However, when I try and upload data to the internet, and leave my computer on while it is uploading, I get a message that says the following when I return to my computer after about an hour or so:  "Internet Explorer has disconnected from the internet".  My XP machine does not have these issues.  Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Hey Merch72,

Internet Explorer 8 is built into Windows 7, so the only way to reinstall Internet Explorer 8 is to reinstall Windows 7. It is possible to disable/enable Internet Explorer 8 on Windows 7, but this has no restorative effect on the components of Internet Explorer.

Let’s try resetting Internet Explorer back to its defaults. This will remove all customizations to Internet Options and remove any add-ons that have been installed (by you or your computer manufacturer):

·        Open Internet Explorer

·        Click Tools

·        Click Internet Options

·        Click the Advanced tab

·        Click Reset…

·        Click Reset

·        Click Close

·        Click OK

·        Close Internet Explorer

·        Open Internet Explorer

Look forward to hearing back from you.
